Moment
Can you get to the kitchen,
Without getting lost?
You are self-realized,
Hundreds of times a day.
You look for what is here,
Right in front of you,
And you turn away.
That’s ignorance.
Go to your breath.
You just self-realized.
You just witnessed.
You are just enlightened.
You are just awakened.
That’s knowing.
You forget,
Hundreds of times a day.
You are always forgiven.
You are always given another chance,
Again, again, and again.
That’s all-forgiving.
That’s generosity.
That’s liberating.
That’s salvation.
That’s rescuing.
That’s healing.
That’s mercy.
That’s compassion.
That’s loving.
That’s kindness.
That’s returning.
All in a single moment.
In each self-realized moment,
You have a chance
To repent,
To release,
To sacrifice,
To renounce,
To let it go,
To witness,
To be mindful,
To obey,
To serve,
The moment.
Or keep going in your own way.
That’s heedlessness.
That’s arrogance.
Nothing stands over the moment.
The moment self-realizes,
With or without you,
Again,
Again,
And again.
That’s all-powerful.
That’s overwhelming.
That’s patience.
That’s wrath.
That’s just.
That’s consequence.
Watch your fight,
With the moment.
See your helplessness,
Against the moment.
Ask for more forgiveness,
Only from the moment.
Take refuge,
Only in the moment.
Live,
Only by the moment,
Again,
And again,
And again.
That’s acceptance.
That’s trust.
That’s security.
That’s gratitude.
That’s protection.
That’s humility.
That’s surrender.
The moment self-realizes you.
The moment allows,
That’s sovereignty.
The moment forgives,
That’s loving-kindness.
Each moment is your question:
Will you stay,
or will you turn away?
Return to the moment,
by not leaving.
There is no moment,
but Moment.
